Desk lamps are most often used for function in comparison to table lamps which tend to be more used for effect. Because of this, desk lamps commonly have features like adjustable heads and necks for a more accurate directional light.  They are produced to work for the customer, to spread light where light is needed, for example on computer screens, work surfaces and hobbies such as sewing and computer gaming. When searching for the ideal desk lamp, there is several criteria to consider. How busy is the location where it will be; is there much clutter or objects on the desk, or is it relatively tidy with quite a lot of room? Do you have a personal computer, with its accessories on the desk? Lamps with adjustable necks are known as ‘goose-neck’ lamps, due to the curve in their structure. They can be manouvred and positioned to direct optimum light to an area such as a keyboard or where lots of writing and reading is done. Many of the ‘goose-neck’ style lamps we have on our website use Halogen lighting for even brighter illumination.
If the area is more traditional and subdued, an option such as a bankers lamp would be suitable. Classic and complimentarily old-fashioned, bankers lamps make a subtle statement in any room and give a satisfying warm glow of light to comfort and warm.
