Wall lights have been used to complement the existing main light for as long as light fittings have been produced, or even used as the sole source of light in rooms where ceiling fittings are inappropriate. Wall lights are available in an enormous variety of designs, finishes and light sources, with Halogen and LED (light emitting diode) lighting becoming increasingly popular due to its efficient use of energy. A factor to consider is how many lamps you wish to have on each fitting; wall lights today are available with up to four or more lamps, giving an enormous spread of light. Energy efficient lamps imitating incandescent (the most popular lamp) lamps are gaining popularity but due to their appearance are only suitable in wall lights which disguise the physical appearance of the lamp.
