Without doubt, LED’s have been a revolution within the last few years as they began to fulfil their potential in saving money. However not all LED’s are equal, and as with any other product you get what you pay for. An LED consists of two semi-conductors which emit light without the heat one would normally associate with incandescent lamps, however they also require electronic circuit boards to convert our domestic electrical supply to a voltage the LED’s need, and it is this conversion process that is the weak link as it generates heat causing circuit board degradation leading to failure.
