Bronze Table Lamps

Tiffany glass, and the modern alternative

Most of this page is Quoizel's Tiffany-style lamps, hand-pieced glass on a vintage bronze base, and nothing else in the shop lights a room the way they do when they are on. The rest is largely Astro: the Halo portable, the Ascoli desk lamp and the Club, where bronze is a modern finish on a working lamp.

What we'd tell you in the showroom

A Tiffany lamp is a piece of coloured glass first and a light second. Put it where it will be looked at, on a sideboard or a console, and light the room from somewhere else.

The Astro Halo is the one to buy for a bedside if you do not want a cable. It runs on a battery, dims by touch and is genuinely portable at just over half a kilo. It is light bronze, not dark, so expect a warm champagne rather than a chocolate.
