The cool metals, and where they belong

Chrome is bright and reflective, nickel is softer and slightly warmer, and stainless is what you use where the weather gets at it.

1,485 pieces, the largest finish group in the shop by a distance.

What we'd tell you in the showroom

Chrome fell out of fashion in living rooms and never left bathrooms, which is exactly right: a cool metal beside a mirror and a tap is the only thing that looks deliberate.

Polished nickel is the finish to choose if chrome feels too hard. It is marginally warmer and it does not show every fingerprint.

On a coastal elevation neither will do. Use 316 marine grade stainless and rinse it occasionally, or the salt will pit a standard finish inside a couple of winters.
