How to clean a semi-flush ceiling light?

Turn off the power, then dust the outside of the fixture with a soft, dry cloth to remove everyday dust and debris. For a semi-flush light with a glass shade, gently wipe or unclip it to clean the inside too, using a cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water for stubborn marks, then dry thoroughly before you refit it and switch the power back on.
