Bathroom wall lights are the fitting most British bathrooms are missing. A matched pair either side of the mirror at eye level lights your face from the sides, which is the light you shave and do make-up by, and an up-and-down light on the far wall gives you something softer for the bath. Every wall light here is rated IP44 or better, so it is cleared for zone 2 beside the basin and zone 1 above the bath.

Chrome, nickel, brass and black, in opal glass, fluted glass and slim LED tubes, from Astro, Elstead, Quintiesse, Hinkley, Kichler and Feiss. Match the finish to your taps, buy them in pairs, and put them on their own switch. If you are not sure which zone your wall is in, read our guide to bathroom lighting zones and IP ratings, and for the mirror itself see bathroom mirror and vanity lighting.
