Will this glass shade fit my light?

Check before you buy, as glass shades are less forgiving than fabric. Look at how the shade attaches to your fitting, and measure the opening as well as the shade's size. These are Astro shades, so the product details are the first place to look for matching fittings. If in doubt, send us a photograph of your fitting with its make and model.
What is the difference between opal and clear glass shades?

Opal glass is milky white and hides the bulb, so it gives a soft, even light across a room. Clear glass shows the bulb and gives sharper light, which suits a good looking filament bulb. Smoke glass keeps the light lower for a more atmospheric look. For a kitchen or bathroom where you want good general light, opal is usually the better choice.
Are glass lamp shades suitable for a bathroom?

The shade alone does not make a light bathroom safe, because the rating belongs to the whole fitting. Check the IP rating of the wall or ceiling light that it goes on, and keep to the shades the maker lists for that fitting. A qualified electrician can confirm the zone. Bathrooms usually call for at least IP44 where water might splash the fitting.
What bulb should I use with a glass shade?

Use the bulb type and maximum wattage listed for the fitting, as the shade does not change that. Under opal glass, a standard warm white 2700K LED works well, and its shape does not matter much. Under clear or ribbed glass, choose a good looking bulb, as it will be visible. LED is the sensible choice, as glass gets hot with older bulbs.
